The Maruti Fronx measures 3995 mm in length and 1765 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2520 mm. The Hyundai Exter is shorter at 3815 mm in length and 1710 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2450 mm. The Exter stands taller at 1631 mm compared to the Fronx’s 1550 mm. The Exter comes with 15-inch wheels, while the Fronx has 16-inch wheels. Mahindra to Launch XUV 3XO EV and XUV.e8 by Early 2025, Expanding EV Lineup

Mahindra is planning to launch two new electric SUVs, the XUV 3XO EV and XUV.e8, by late 2024 or early 2025. This move will expand their eco-friendly vehicle lineup, which currently includes only the XUV400 EV.

The XUV 3XO EV, internally known as the S240, is expected to launch by the end of this year. It will be positioned below the XUV400 EV and is set to start production in November. This SUV will have a 35kWh battery, though motor details are not yet disclosed. The ICE versions of the 3XO include features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, and a digital instrument cluster. The electric version is expected to have similar or better features. The XUV 3XO EV is anticipated to be priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 17 lakh, competing with the Tata Nexon EV.

The XUV.e8 is the electric version of the XUV700, maintaining a similar exterior design. It is the first of five new EV concepts from Mahindra, expected to launch by December 2024. Built on the new INGLO platform, the XUV.e8 will offer 60kWh and 80kWh battery packs, with fast charging up to 175kW and a range of about 450 kilometers. The platform will support rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options, delivering up to 285PS and 394PS, respectively.

The new EVs will share components with the VW MEB platform. Spy shots have shown interior features like a two-spoke steering wheel, three 12.3-inch screens, rectangular AC vents, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, and a rotary knob for drive modes. The camouflaged exterior hints at new headlamps with connected DRLs, a closed-off grille, and new alloy wheels, with the rear likely featuring a connecting tail lamp.

The XUV.e8 is expected to launch by December 2024, starting at around Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom), marking Mahindra’s strong entry into the full-size SUV EV market. It will compete with the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.

Vicky Kaushal’s new film, Bad Newz, hit theaters on Friday and earned Rs 8.5 crore on its opening day, according to Sacnilk. This is a solid start, especially since the last film to earn more on its opening day was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan during Eid, which made Rs 16 crore but did not perform well after that. Bad Newz has become Vicky Kaushal’s biggest opening film, surpassing his previous record held by Uri (2019), which earned Rs 8.2 crore on its first day and went on to earn over Rs 245 crore in India.

Opening Day Performance

  • On its opening day, Bad Newz had an occupancy rate of 22.83%, with most viewers attending night shows.
  • In Mumbai, with 835 shows, the occupancy was 20.75%.
  • In Delhi and NCR, with 1054 shows, it was 26%.

The film received strong promotional support, and its number of shows was double that of Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira, which had 472 shows in Mumbai and 570 in Delhi and NCR on its opening day.

Bad Newz is being compared to other city-focused films like Crew, which started with Rs 10.28 crore and ended with Rs 89.92 crore, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which began with Rs 7.02 crore and finished with Rs 80.88 crore.

5. Hyundai Inster EV

The Hyundai Inster EV, recently unveiled globally, is expected to launch in India by late 2026. It will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur plant with localized batteries from Exide. The Inster EV will come with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 49 kWh, paired with a single electric motor producing 95 BHP / 147 Nm and 113 BHP / 147 Nm, respectively, offering a maximum range of 355 km on a single charge. It will compete with the Punch.ev and Citroen eC3 in India.

The Hyundai Bayon, one of Hyundai’s smallest European cars, is planned to be introduced in India between 2026-2027. This compact crossover will compete directly with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The India-spec Bayon will be under 4 meters in length, based on the new i20 platform, and will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine.

7. New Generation i10 Nios

The next-generation Grand i10 Nios, internally known as the Ai4, is set to arrive by late 2027. The current second-generation model was launched in 2019 and updated with a facelift in 2023.
